ADP has introduced its Lyric HCM platform in Australia and New Zealand, aiming to provide an integrated solution for payroll, HR, and workforce management. The AI-powered system, which first launched in the United States in 2024, is now tailored to meet the compliance requirements of the ANZ region.

Lyric brings together functions such as onboarding, time and attendance tracking, talent management, recruitment, and analytics into a single cloud-based platform. The company says this unified approach is intended to help HR leaders streamline operations and improve employee experiences.

According to ADP, Lyric’s architecture uses graph-based modeling of organizational structures and offers low-code configurability so that teams can adapt quickly to changes. Its AI features include intelligent search capabilities and in-app analytics for decision-making support and workflow automation.

“Lyric redefines how organisations in ANZ manage their people,” said Kylie Baullo, managing director, ADP ANZ and Japan. “It combines automation, compliance confidence, and human-centred design into one intelligent experience. Our goal is to make payroll and HR effortless so leaders can focus on what really matters — their people and their business.”

The platform addresses regional regulatory needs by supporting Australian Fair Work regulations—such as Long Service Leave requirements—and Single Touch Payroll reporting. In New Zealand, it complies with the Holidays Act as well as Inland Revenue Department obligations like KiwiSaver and Payday Reporting. Lyric’s built-in regulatory intelligence aims to keep organizations up-to-date with changing rules.

A recent survey from the Australian Payroll Association found that about one-third of Australian companies had not completed a payroll compliance audit in the past three years; many cited legislative updates as a major challenge. Lyric seeks to address these concerns with continuous payroll calculations, automated payments, and audit-ready reporting.

Security is also a focus for ADP’s offering. The company highlights its enterprise-grade security program supported by over 300 global cybersecurity specialists who provide round-the-clock threat monitoring. Clients in Australia and New Zealand receive the same level of protection offered globally.

ADP supports Lyric users locally with more than 350 payroll professionals and 60 implementation consultants based in the region.

“Lyric was built to scale with our clients,” said Srini Konidena, vice president of R&D and Product Development for APAC. “It brings together our global R&D strength and local expertise to deliver a solution that is flexible, intelligent, and human — perfectly aligned with the needs of ANZ businesses.”
