For the four weeks ending November 29, 2025, U.S. private employers added an average of 16,250 jobs per week, according to preliminary data from the NER Pulse, a weekly update to the ADP National Employment Report (NER). This represents a possible rebound in hiring after four consecutive weeks of job losses.
The NER Pulse tracks week-over-week changes in employment using a four-week moving average and seasonally adjusted data. The most recent figures show that for the week ending November 29, there was an increase of 16,250 jobs. The previous three weeks recorded smaller gains or losses: 2,750 jobs added for the week ending November 22; a loss of 9,250 jobs for November 15; and a loss of 12,000 jobs for November 8.
These estimates are based on high-frequency data from ADP and have a two-week lag to improve accuracy. “The NER Pulse is an estimate of the week-over-week change in employment based on a four-week moving average. These estimates are based on ADP’s finely tuned, high-frequency data. The data are seasonally adjusted and have a two-week lag to allow for more complete and accurate estimates of real-time employment trends,” according to the company.
The NER Pulse is published every Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. ET unless it coincides with the release of the monthly National Employment Report, which uses data from a reference week including the twelfth day of each month. The report can be accessed at both ADP Research and Main Street Macro shortly after its release.
There will be no NER Pulse publication on December 30, as this date overlaps with preparation for the monthly report. The next update is scheduled for January 12, 2026.
ADP Research produces both reports in collaboration with Stanford Digital Economy Lab. According to ADP Research, their mission is “to make the future of work more productive through data-driven discovery.” They state that companies, workers, and policymakers use their data to inform workplace decisions worldwide.
ADP describes itself as having provided HR and payroll solutions globally for over seventy-five years and claims that more than one million clients across over one hundred forty countries rely on its services.
