Bergen County announces daily opening of Winter Wonderland starting December 26

Bergen County officials have announced that the annual Winter Wonderland event will be open daily from Friday, December 26 through Sunday, January 4 at the county’s parks. The event features live music, ice skating on an open-air rink, bumper car rides, food trucks offering local treats, and artisan vendors selling handcrafted goods.

A special community celebration is planned with a Kinara lighting ceremony on December 28 at 5:30 PM. The week-long musical lineup includes performances by local Bergen artists such as Sharp Edge, Flash Gordon & Debra Dynamite, Mad Slap Tones, Bach to Rock, Slippery Chickens, Ed Carr Acoustic Duo, Ampliphy, Ninety to Zero, and The Buzz NJ.

Tickets are available for purchase online at www.BergenCountyWinterWonderland.com or in person. All access tickets—which include admission, skating privileges and one carousel ticket—are priced at $20 plus an online service fee. Seniors, veterans and active military can purchase all access tickets for $10 plus the fee. Regular admission is $10 plus the service fee; seniors, veterans and active military pay $5 plus the fee. Children age three and under are admitted free of charge.

Additional skating sessions cost $10 each plus an online service fee. Carousel and train tickets are available separately for $2 each; train rides operate from 11am-3pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

The hours of operation for Winter Wonderland are from 11:00am to 9:00pm daily except for select days with adjusted schedules: New Year’s Eve (December 31) hours will be from 11am to 6pm; Friday, January 2 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm; and Sunday, January 4 from 11:00am to 7:00pm.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of Winter Wonderland in Bergen County. The event is presented by Bergen New Bridge Medical Center with support from sponsors including Ahead, Allan Briteway Electrical Utility Contractors, ANA Painting, Bergen County Education Association, Bruno and Associates, Care Plus, Connect One Bank and others.

The Bergen County Parks Department states its mission is “to provide recreation opportunities for all while preserving open space,” maintaining over 9,000 acres across the county which includes a zoo accredited nationally as well as multiple golf courses and historic sites.

“We invite residents and visitors alike to join in the celebration and make Winter Wonderland a part of their holiday tradition!” said organizers.
