Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco III participated in reorganization ceremonies across the county on January 6, 2026. The events marked the swearing-in of several local officials and highlighted efforts to strengthen cooperation between the county and its municipalities.
In Fort Lee, Tedesco administered the oath of office to re-elected Council Members Ila Kasofsky and Peter J. Suh. In Fair Lawn, he congratulated newly elected Council Member Joseph Baldofsky and re-elected Council Member Josh Reinitz, who was also sworn in again as Deputy Mayor. Fair Lawn Mayor Cristine Cutrone was also re-sworn into her position.
During these ceremonies in Fort Lee and Fair Lawn, Tedesco presented Certificates of Commendation along with Bergen County pins and a County Executive Challenge Coin to officials. He emphasized the value of collaborative relationships between county government and local municipalities.
Representatives attended other ceremonies on behalf of Tedesco. Deputy Chief of Staff Jared Lautz delivered Certificates of Commendation to newly elected Waldwick Council Members Angela A. Smith and Alyson Courtney Wingate after their swearings-in. Deputy County Administrator Anthony Iacono represented Tedesco in Dumont, presenting certificates to newly elected Dumont Council Members Lisa Rossillo and Maryann E. Russini, as well as re-elected Council Member Doreen Aponte.
“Across the County, public servants have stepped up and answered the call to serve their communities. It is energizing to see so many newly elected officials take their oaths of office for the first time,” said County Executive Tedesco. “I look forward to continuing our work with our municipal partners, as well as building strong relationships with our newly elected members, as we continue to ensure that Bergen County remains the best place in the nation to live, work, raise a family, and retire.”
