The U.S. Census Bureau announced on April 9 the release of a downloadable file containing estimates of the nation’s resident population by single year of age and sex as of July 1, 2025.
These annual population estimates provide important demographic data for policymakers, researchers, and community planners across the country.
According to the Census Bureau, additional data releases are planned in the coming months. These will include housing unit estimates for the nation, states, and counties, as well as population estimates for cities and towns. The agency also plans to publish further breakdowns by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin for various geographic areas such as states, metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas, counties, Puerto Rico Commonwealth, and municipios.
The current release does not include an accompanying news release but is available through a tip sheet provided by the Census Bureau.
Future updates from the Census Bureau are expected to provide more detailed demographic insights at multiple geographic levels.
