Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco III participated in several reorganization ceremonies throughout Bergen County over the weekend. These events marked the swearing-in of newly elected and re-elected local officials.
In Rochelle Park, Tedesco administered the oath of office to Committee Member Sean Smyth, Mayor Thomas Miller, and Deputy Mayor Matthew Trawinski. In Rutherford, he offered congratulations to Councilwoman Christie Del Rey-Cone for her re-election and Councilman Dennis Mazone on his election. Elmwood Park saw Councilman Francesco Fasolo re-elected and Joseph Oswald newly elected to the Borough Council, both recognized by Tedesco. In Maywood, he congratulated Jacqueline DeMuro and Jacqueline Flynn on their re-election and swearings-in as councilwomen. In Wood-Ridge, Michele Mabel and Michael Donato were congratulated on their re-election and second terms as council members.
During each ceremony, Tedesco presented Certificates of Commendation to those taking office. He also gave out Bergen County pins and a County Executive Challenge Coin to highlight ongoing cooperation between county government and municipalities.
“I was glad to attend reorganization ceremonies across the County this weekend, in what is a true representation of the dedicated public servants we have leading our communities,” said County Executive Tedesco. “2026 will be a year full of energy and opportunity. I look forward to working closely with our council and committee members as we continue providing for our residents and ensure that each of our municipalities are prepared for all that this year has in store for Bergen County.”
