The Solid Waste Recycling Enhancement Act Higher Education Research Grant Program is accepting applications from New Jersey colleges and universities until 3 p.m. on April 24, according to an announcement on Apr. 17.
This grant program has allocated about $2 million for projects at higher education institutions in the state that aim to improve or create recycling resources, tools, or methodologies under the Recycling Enhancement Act. The goal is to support initiatives that can advance recycling efforts within academic settings.
Award decisions and funding amounts will be determined based on each proposal’s merits, selection criteria, and available funds. Projects that include partnerships with qualified entities possessing specialized expertise will receive preference during the selection process. Application instructions and a list of suggested research topics are available through the FY25 and FY26 REA Research Grant Notice of Funding Availability. Selected applicants are expected to be notified in July.
