Hudson Regional Health announced on March 10 the appointment of Dr. Michael Hochberg as chief hospital executive at Hoboken University Hospital and Dr. Vijayant Singh as chief hospital executive at Bayonne University Hospital. The announcement follows Hochberg’s previous role leading Bayonne University Hospital, where he will be succeeded by Singh.

The appointments are part of Hudson Regional Health’s efforts to strengthen its healthcare network across Hudson County. Both executives bring extensive experience in hospital administration and clinical leadership to their new roles.

Dr. Singh is a board-certified internist, a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and holds an MBA in healthcare management. He has spent his career in Hudson County, beginning with training at RWJ Barnabas Health-Jersey City Medical Center before joining CarePoint Health and advancing through several leadership positions focused on operational improvements and strategic growth. Most recently, Singh served as Chief Clinical Officer and Vice President of Network Development for Hudson Regional Hospital.

Dr. Hochberg joined HRH-Bayonne in early 2025 as chief hospital executive, overseeing significant improvements such as higher patient experience scores, reduced emergency department wait times, increased daily census figures, and the addition of hundreds of credentialed physicians and nurses. His prior roles include serving as Chief Operations and Integration Officer at Saint Peter’s Healthcare System in New Brunswick, Senior Executive Vice President Chief Clinical Officer at JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, and Corporate Associate Chief Medical Officer for Steward Health Care.

HRH Chairman Yan Moshe said, “Dr. Hochberg and Dr. Singh are proven leaders who understand the needs of our communities and the excellence we demand in our facilities. Their years of experience and proven accomplishments will help advance our mission of providing excellent health care in Hudson County.”

HRH CEO and President Dr. Nizar Kifaieh added, “I am confident that Dr. Hochberg and Dr. Singh, two highly qualified and well-respected healthcare professionals, will drive further improvements in Hoboken and Bayonne.”
