IAM union members who work as air traffic controllers are preparing for upcoming contract negotiations with Leidos, a government contractor. Mark Costa, a member of the IAM negotiations team and a flight service specialist, described his responsibilities as providing important weather and safety information to pilots. Costa represents Local 2010 in Reston, Virginia. He noted that both his team and Local 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas are involved in the preparations for these talks.

Costa stated, “I am responsible for providing critical weather and safety information to pilots.” He also explained the ongoing efforts by both locals as they get ready to negotiate with Leidos.

The negotiations come at a time when air traffic control professionals continue to play a key role in aviation safety and operations across the country.
