The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) announced on Mar. 12 that its 2026 IAM Legislative Conference will take place from June 22 to June 24 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.
The conference is an annual event where IAM members gather to discuss legislative priorities and meet with lawmakers. In the previous year, more than 400 IAM members attended the conference in Washington, D.C., which was described as one of the strongest turnouts in recent history.
Registration for delegates will open at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 22, and continue until 12:30 p.m., with a second registration period available on Tuesday morning from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The opening session is set for Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., led by IAM Legislative and Political Director Hasan Solomon. The keynote address will be delivered by IAM International President Brian Bryant.
General sessions are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Delegates will have time reserved in the afternoons to lobby their elected representatives on Capitol Hill. The conference will conclude with a Congressional reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
Delegates are encouraged to arrange meetings with their Congressional district representative and both U.S. senators before arriving in Washington, as these direct conversations are considered important opportunities for members to share their perspectives with lawmakers.
