IAM Local 318’s Joseph Rumrey, who represents rail workers in Boston at Keolis, recently attended a leadership training class at the IAM Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, Maryland. The program brought together about 14 union representatives from various parts of the United States.

The training focused on providing these leaders with practical skills needed to support their members. This included learning how to write claims and prepare for legal investigations. According to the organizers, these competencies are essential for effective representation.

The broader goals of the rail division include advocating for funding for commuter rail systems and working towards expanding high-speed rail infrastructure across the country.
