Genova Burns LLC has named Jennifer Borek as its new managing partner, marking the first time a woman will hold the top leadership position in the firm’s 35-year history.

Borek is recognized for her work in complex commercial litigation, government contracts and procurement law, employment litigation, and appellate advocacy. She has also contributed to the firm’s leadership by mentoring attorneys, encouraging collaboration across practice groups, and helping shape long-term strategic initiatives.

Jim Burns, co-founder of Genova Burns and its most recent managing partner, commented on the transition: “Today, the firm transitions to the next generation of leadership. The firm builds on Jennifer’s more than two decades at Genova Burns, particularly over the last several years when she was tapped to lead the firm’s commercial litigation practice group to a new level. Given her well-earned reputation for common sense, crisp, analytical intelligence and no-nonsense, get-to-the-point approach,” Burns added, “I am proud to turn over the reins to Jen.”

As managing partner, Borek will be responsible for overseeing Genova Burns’ strategic direction and operations while continuing her legal practice. Her appointment highlights the firm’s focus on excellence and leadership development. “I am honored to step into the role of managing Genova Burns,” Borek said. “I look forward to working with our firm’s founding partners to continue the firm’s commitment to excellence in the profession; and – along with our extraordinary lawyers and staff – building and growing upon that legacy.”
