Lightbridge Academy, a franchise network specializing in early childhood education, has announced continued growth as it enters 2026. The company now counts more than 200 centers either open or in development. This expansion is supported by new franchise agreements and an expected record number of grand openings scheduled for the first quarter.

The organization began the year with several industry recognitions. Lightbridge Academy received the Franchise Business Review’s Franchise Satisfaction Award for the third consecutive year, was ranked #129 on Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 list—climbing 50 spots from the previous year—and won Rezolve.ai’s Early Learning AI Transformation award.

According to Lightbridge Academy, these accolades reflect both its commitment to supporting franchise partners and its progress in areas such as financial strength and operational stability. The Early Learning AI Transformation Award specifically acknowledges the company’s use of artificial intelligence tools to improve staff support and operational efficiency.

“2025 was a defining year for our brand, marked by strong, strategic growth and momentum that reflects both the demand for high-quality early education and the strength of our franchise community,” said Gigi Schweikert, CEO of Lightbridge Academy. “Entering 2026 with the honor of prestigious industry awards, we are energized to further close the child care gap for families nationwide while continuing to invest in and support our existing franchisees, and welcoming new partners who share our mission and vision for the future.”
