Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation has announced the appointment of new trustees to several of its affiliated hospital boards. The foundation is the philanthropic branch of Hackensack Meridian Health, a not-for-profit health care network in New Jersey.
Anthony “Tony” Labozzetta, president and CEO of Provident and Provident Bank, will join the board at Hackensack University Medical Center. Charles “Chuck” Benz Jr., who retired from GE Healthcare as senior director/financial close leader in 2018, will become a trustee at Ocean University Medical Center Foundation. Palisades Medical Center also welcomes four new trustees.
Joyce P. Hendricks, president and chief development officer of Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation, commented on the appointments: “Now more than ever, the need for private philanthropy to help us transform patient care is necessary, and we are thrilled to have these six individuals step up to help us improve care for their respective communities. It’s a team effort, and we know that their unique skills and experience will be a great benefit to the hospitals they will serve.”
The newly appointed trustees will work with current board members at each hospital foundation on fundraising efforts. Money raised by each site stays local but also supports Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation’s “Be The Difference” campaign. This initiative aims to raise $1 billion for improvements in patient care, advanced research, medical education, and expanding access to health services. To date, nearly $800 million has been raised toward this goal.
