Registration is now open for the NJ Pathways Business Forum, scheduled for Friday, June 13 at Rutgers University – New Brunswick. The event is hosted by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury and the New Jersey Business Action Center.
The forum aims to assist business owners in understanding public and private procurement processes, as well as provide support with registering or certifying their enterprises with the State. Attendees will have access to personalized advice from experts to help build their businesses.
Participants will have opportunities to connect directly with various federal, state, and private organizations. These include the U.S. Small Business Administration, University Hospital, New Jersey Department of Transportation, NJ Transit, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, NJ Department of Environmental Protection, NJ Economic Development Authority, South Jersey Industries, PSE&G, Turner Construction Company, and SHI—a small business enterprise that has expanded through work with the State.
The event will feature matchmaking sessions designed to pair government and private sector agencies with businesses that are positioned to meet specific needs. According to organizers, “Treasury officials partnered with Rutgers University’s Business School to customize relevant contract opportunities available for business owners attending the event.” Subject matter experts from Treasury will be present onsite to offer technical support related to business registrations and certifications.
Workshops throughout the day will address topics such as procurement processes, capital resources, and opportunities in both public and private sectors. The forum is free of charge and aims to support businesses that have historically faced barriers to economic opportunity. The program runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with breakfast and registration starting at 8 a.m.
