The New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) continues its efforts to bring attention to key business issues in the state through its television program, “Minding Your Business.” The weekly show, which has received seven Telly Awards in the past three years—including a gold award in 2024 for Interview & Talk Show—airs on News 12+ during weekend time slots. Hosted by Bob Considine, the program features different member businesses each week.

A recent episode highlighted NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka and Chief Government Affairs Officer Chris Emigholz as they discussed the organization’s 2025 Blueprint for a Competitive New Jersey. This 28-page policy document provides recommendations to state officials aimed at fostering innovation and economic growth throughout New Jersey.

The same episode also featured Fight for Freelancers co-founder Kim Kavin and former NJBIA Vice President Elissa Frank. They addressed concerns over a proposed rule from the state Department of Labor that would reclassify many independent contractors as employees. Both guests expressed strong opposition to this proposal, citing potential negative impacts on freelancers across New Jersey.

“Minding Your Business” airs Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., as well as Sundays at 9:30 a.m. on News 12+.
