Tessa Caruso, marketing manager at the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, said, “We are sincerely grateful to 107.1 The Boss for their continued support and for selecting JBJ Soul Kitchen as the beneficiary of the Mistletoe Rock Radiothon for the third year in a row. Our partnership and the generosity of donors who participate in the event have helped JBJ Soul Kitchen serve even more meals across our locations as the need in our communities continues to grow.”
JBJ Soul Kitchen offers locally sourced three-course meals to both paying customers and guests facing food insecurity. Since opening, it has served over 233,000 meals through its Pay-It-Forward model. Guests can pay a suggested donation or make an additional contribution to cover meals for those unable to pay.
The radiothon began at 6 a.m. with Greg T. in the Morning with Rochelle broadcasting live from Freehold Raceway Mall. Other station personalities including Michele Amabile and Cane Peterson also participated from various locations such as Red Bank and Toms River throughout the day.
During the broadcast, interviews were conducted with Jon Bon Jovi, Dorothea Bongiovi, volunteers, and patrons of JBJ Soul Kitchen who discussed how the organization’s mission impacts local communities.
Mike Ryan, vice president of programming at 107.1 The Boss said, “I’m incredibly proud of our team for the phenomenal work they did and grateful to the JBJ Soul Kitchen team for their partnership.
