RWJBarnabas Health recently hosted leadership and faculty from Rutgers University-Newark and Rutgers Business School for a meeting and tour of its upcoming community center, Harvest. The facility, described as an RWJBarnabas Health Farm to Community Center, is scheduled to open early next year.

The visit focused on how the partnership between RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers can support local small businesses and provide experiential learning opportunities for both students and the broader community.

A statement from RWJBarnabas Health emphasized the importance of such collaborations: “Partnering with likeminded institutions such as Rutgers University ensures we are able to fulfill our mission of building healthier communities, together.” The organization also expressed anticipation for future work with Rutgers, stating, “We look forward to living out Harvest’s full potential alongside the Rutgers team.”

The initiative aims to promote economic growth in the region while engaging students in practical experiences connected to health and business sectors.
