RWJBarnabas Health’s Dr. Alexis LaPietra appeared on “Minding Your Business” on News 12+ to talk about the challenges and resources related to addiction recovery. Dr. LaPietra, who is the System Director of Addiction Medicine for Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist Services, as well as Medical Director for RWJ Barnabas Health’s Institute for Prevention and Recovery, discussed how substance abuse can affect individuals from various backgrounds.

During the interview with Bob Considine, Dr. LaPietra highlighted several programs available to support those dealing with addiction. She also addressed the role that stigma and cultural perceptions play in creating barriers to care for people seeking help.

“Minding Your Business,” produced by the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA), is a weekly television program recognized for its work in business journalism. The show has received seven Telly Awards over the past three years, including a gold award in 2024 in the Interview & Talk Show category.
