RWJBarnabas Health has announced that it will standardize visiting hours across its adult acute-care hospitals, effective February 2, 2026. The new policy sets general visiting hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, for all of the system’s adult acute-care hospitals.

The health system stated that its children’s hospitals, Behavioral Health Center, and the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center will maintain their own visiting hour guidelines to address the specific needs of their patient populations. Visiting hours for certain hospital units may also differ from the standard schedule.

Exceptions to these standard hours may be made when medically appropriate. These include circumstances such as end-of-life care, visitors for patients in intensive care units (ICU), parents or guardians of pediatric patients, disabled patients with caregivers, and participants in the care partner program.

RWJBarnabas Health encourages patients and families to discuss individual needs with their care team during hospital stays. “For more information about visiting hours and visitor guidelines, visit: rwjbh.org/visitinghours,” the organization stated.
