Seton Hall University is set to launch the TLTC Innovation Hub for the Spring 2026 semester, aiming to provide expanded opportunities for hands-on learning and content creation. The new facility will serve students, faculty, and staff by offering a range of resources that support academic inquiry and creative projects across various disciplines.
The Innovation Hub brings together fabrication tools, extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, production studios, open collaboration spaces, and consultation rooms. According to Michael Soupios, executive director of the Teaching, Learning and Technology Center (TLTC), “We built the Innovation Hub so that learning does not stop at the classroom door. It is a creative space where students and faculty can experiment with new tools, turn ideas into prototypes and explore projects beyond traditional assignments. The Innovation Hub helps transform how we teach and learn by giving our community room to explore, make and imagine what is possible.”
The facility includes an open lounge with flexible work areas designed for collaboration. Dedicated studios are available for different types of creative work: a Maker Studio offers equipment such as 3D printers, laser engravers, CNC machines, sublimation printers, vinyl cutters, robotics kits, and secure lockers for project pickup; an XR and AI Studio provides access to Meta Quest Pro headsets along with immersive applications; four content creation studios support audio-visual production needs including podcasting and video recording.
Additionally, the Solutions Studio will function as a walk-up support desk within the Hub. Starting in Spring 2026, certain Information Technology services currently located in Corrigan Hall will move to this new central location. John Fernandes, senior director of IT Service Management at Seton Hall University stated: “By relocating the Solutions Studio to a central location in the Innovation Hub, we are ensuring that every member of the University community has easy access to the technology support they need. From assistance with SHU network login issues such as Wi-Fi and account access to hardware and software support, our goal is to deliver a premier experience. Whether you are troubleshooting an issue or learning something new, we invite everyone to stop by. We are here to help.”
A grand opening celebration for the TLTC Innovation Hub is planned later in the semester along with a blessing of the new Walsh Library entrance. Updates on available services will be provided in upcoming weeks.
