Seton Hall University has announced the addition of five new members to its Board of Regents: David L. Flood, Alan Kirshenbaum, Juan Simón Mendoza Gimenez, Nicole Mouskondis, and the Most Reverend Joseph A. Williams, Bishop of Camden. The appointments come as the university pursues its strategic plan “Inspiring Great Minds to Greater Purpose, 2025–30” and the fundraising campaign “For All, Forever: A Campaign for a Greater Seton Hall.”
Bishop Williams joined the Board in March 2025 after becoming bishop of the Diocese of Camden. The other four lay regents began their three-year terms in July 2025 under university bylaws.
“Seton Hall has been blessed, from its founding, by women and men whose gifts of mind and heart have strengthened our Catholic mission,” said Seton Hall President Monsignor Joseph Reilly, S.T.L., Ph.D. “These new Regents embody that same spirit of service. Their leadership in healthcare, business, philanthropy and the Church will help us form great minds for a greater purpose, deepen our commitment to students and ensure that Seton Hall continues to be a place of hope, possibility and faithful witness in a rapidly changing world.”
Monsignor Reilly and Board Chair Henry “Hank” D’Alessandro ’85 also thanked Regent Emeritus Patrick Murray ’64 for his work as Chair of the Committee on Regents during the selection process.
David L. Flood is President of Intermountain Foundation and Enterprise Chief Development Officer at Intermountain Health—a large nonprofit health system operating across several states in the Intermountain West. Some hospitals within this network follow Catholic care principles. Flood’s background includes leadership roles at Somerset Medical Center, Meridian Health, and New Jersey Institute of Technology. He has served as International Board Chair for the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and received industry honors such as the Harold J. “Si” Seymour Award.
Flood is an alumnus of Seton Hall Preparatory School and previously worked at Seton Hall University as Associate Director of Alumni Relations before serving on its Board of Regents. He was inducted into Seton Hall’s Varsity Sports Hall of Fame for his contributions to men’s basketball.
Alan Kirshenbaum serves as Chief Financial Officer at Blue Owl Capital Inc., having previously held CFO positions at several investment firms including Sixth Street Specialty Lending (TSLX), TPG Special Situations Partners, Natsource, MainStay Investments, and Bear Stearns Asset Management. Kirshenbaum holds degrees from Rutgers University and New York University’s Stern School of Business. He is involved with nonprofit organizations such as Boy Scouts of America and Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ.
Juan Simón Mendoza Gimenez sits on the board of Empresas Polar—Venezuela’s largest food and beverage company—and its subsidiaries Bebidas Polar C.A. and Alimentos Polar C.A., overseeing various aspects since joining what began as a family business in 1941. His experience spans financial sector board roles including BBVA Provincial; he has also led business advocacy groups like Venezuelan Executives Association. Mendoza holds law and M.B.A degrees from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and Northwestern University respectively.
Nicole Mouskondis is CEO and Board Chair/Director at Nicholas & Company—a major independent foodservice distributor in the Intermountain West—where she works alongside her husband Peter Mouskondis (President/CEO). She has received multiple regional awards recognizing her entrepreneurship and ethics in business practice while actively serving on various community boards including those connected to higher education institutions.
The Most Reverend Joseph A. Williams became Bishop of Camden in March 2025 following appointment by Pope Francis in May 2024; he previously served parishes across Minnesota with outreach focused on Latino communities.
The university stated that these additions would further strengthen its ability to guide ongoing initiatives related to leadership development rooted in service.
