The opening reception for “Seton Hall: A Journey of Transformation, Faith and Reflection” took place on December 8, 2025, at the Bishop Doughtery University Center, Theatre Hall. The exhibition was curated by graduate students from the Museum Exhibitions A-Z course at Seton Hall University.
According to Program Director Nadzeya Charapan, Ph.D., the exhibit is designed to show “the unique perspectives students bring to their academic and personal growth.” The exhibition aims to display student creativity and collaborative work while preparing them for future roles in the museum field.
During the event, each subtheme—transformation, faith, and inner reflection—was introduced by a student who explained the reasoning behind the chosen prints. Christian Dolan presented on transformation, Kaylee Long spoke about faith, and Syeda H. Ali discussed inner reflection.
Undergraduate students from the Art and Human Needs course also participated by presenting original poems and short stories inspired by their experiences at Seton Hall. Fatima Abdulrahman read her poem “Forward,” Franshesca Beltre shared “Her Name is Seton Hall,” and Justin Del Valle presented his short story “Administrative Ostrache.”
Charapan and the graduate students thanked Dean Crable and Chair Zizik for financial support; Sarah E. Ponichtera, Emily H. Handlin, John J. Walako, and Laura M. Hapke for access to university archive collections; Christine E. Lhowe for graphic design assistance; and Frank Capra for printing services.
Kaylee Long commented on her experience: “It was really exciting to be able to apply our new skills to create an exhibit. Walking through the UC and seeing our work as a class has increased my confidence as I enter the museum field.”
