Seton Hall University is offering a 14-month Second Degree Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (A.B.S.N.) program for individuals who already hold a non-nursing bachelor’s degree. The university will provide more information about the program during a virtual session scheduled for Thursday, February 19, from 1 to 2 p.m. The session will include an overview of the curriculum, available locations, clinical training opportunities, and details on the admissions process. A question-and-answer segment will follow.

The accelerated program is designed for people looking to change careers into nursing and features both classroom learning and practical clinical experience at healthcare facilities. Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree in another field before applying. Program start dates are available in Nutley and Freehold for the spring cohort, while only Freehold offers a fall cohort.

Matthew Pardillo ’25, who works as a cardiac critical care nurse, commented on the nature of the profession: “Nursing isn’t just about clinical skills — it’s about advocating for your patients and their families during some of the hardest moments of their lives,” he said. “It’s challenging, but it’s also one of the most meaningful and fulfilling paths you can choose.”

Additional details about Seton Hall’s Second Degree Accelerated B.S.N. program can be found on the program website.
