Seton Hall University will host a two-day seminar focused on ethics and values in the era of artificial intelligence. The event, organized by the Center for Catholic Studies, the G.K. Chesterton Institute for Faith and Culture, Campus Ministry, the Joseph A. Unanue Latino Institute, and the International Academy of Catholic Leaders, is held in collaboration with Somos Community Care, Basilica Management, and Young Catholic Professionals of Northern New Jersey.

The seminar is scheduled to take place at Seton Hall University on January 30–31, 2026. It is open to Seton Hall students at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as faculty, administrators, clergy members, and Catholic professionals.

Programming on Friday, January 30 will focus on undergraduate students and the wider university community from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday’s sessions on January 31 are intended for graduate students, doctoral candidates, educators, clergy members, Catholic professionals and others in the broader community. The program will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., followed by an optional Mass at 4 p.m.

There is no cost to attend the seminar; however, registration is required.

According to organizers: “In a world marked by rapid technological change, the purpose of this seminar is to bring students, professionals and the community together in dialogue to learn, address and bring hope to new generations on how to confront both the challenges and benefits that AI has — and will continue to have — in professional and personal life, economics, ethics and social doctrine, by applying values of compassion, understanding and community.”

The event aims to provide participants with perspectives from speakers representing corporate, technological and academic sectors who will share their expertise grounded in experience as well as Catholic social teaching.

Attendees who complete all sessions will receive a certificate confirming their participation.
