NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka recently appeared on the program “One on One with Steve Adubato” to discuss the role of mentorship in developing women business leaders.

“One of the most important attributes of being a good leader is bringing people up behind you,” Siekerka said. “Whether it’s succession planning in your own organization, whether it’s ensuring that around your C-suite you have the diversity of thought leadership … it’s an imperative that we step back and we build the skills in those coming up behind us.”

The New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA), which Siekerka leads as president and chief executive officer, represents private-sector employers across New Jersey. The association, established in 1910, is recognized as the largest statewide employer organization in the United States. It supports its members—ranging from manufacturing to services sectors—through advocacy, resources, and benefits aimed at enhancing prosperity. NJBIA also works to foster collaboration among businesses, government agencies, and educational institutions. Its headquarters are located in Trenton, New Jersey (official website).
