Tom Flatt has been elected as the new president of the New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF), the charitable arm of the New Jersey Section, PGA of America. Flatt is currently the director of golf at Edgewood Country Club in River Vale.

Chris Dymek, head golf professional at Manasquan River Golf Club in Brielle, will take on the role of vice president. The Board of Trustees also welcomes several new members: Rylee Plitz, who is both a PGA and LPGA head golf professional at Eagle Ridge Golf Club; Mike Sargenti, head golf professional at Forest Hill Field Club; and Tyler Teynor from Metedeconk National Golf Club. In addition to these appointments, Sean Marikakis from KPMG and Dave West from Centerview Capital will serve as independent board members.

The NJGF was established in 2004 with the goal to use golf as a means to positively affect lives and communities. Its work focuses on youth initiatives, military programs, and support for individuals with special needs. The foundation offers various programs designed to make golf accessible to people from diverse backgrounds.

“We are thrilled to have Tom Flatt, Chris Dymek and our new Board members assume leadership roles at the NJ Golf Foundation,” said Chris Hunt, executive director of NJGF. “They all bring a deep passion for the game of golf and a strong commitment to expanding access for individuals from all backgrounds. Their experience and vision will help strengthen our programs and partnerships, and further our mission.”

Hunt also acknowledged outgoing president Mike Attara: “We extend our deepest gratitude to outgoing President Mike Attara, the 2025 NJPGA Golf Professional of the Year, who will remain engaged as a Board member. Mike is passionate about player development, and his leadership was instrumental, as our programming continues to make a meaningful impact in communities across the state.”

Programs under NJGF include PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), which provides rehabilitative golf opportunities for veterans living with PTSD or traumatic brain injuries; Special Olympics New Jersey Golf; Els For Autism; PGA Jr. League; Golf in Schools; and the New Jersey Heroes Tour for active military personnel, veterans, and first responders. The Inspiration Golf Range at VA Medical Center in Lyons serves as both a public facility and home base for player development efforts.

Chris Hunt added thanks to departing board members Meg Whan, Brent Studer, Kevin McCallen, Drew Jordan, and Brian Mackey for their service on the board.
