The U.S. Census Bureau released new data on Mar. 26 from the Household Trends and Outlook Pulse Survey, also known as HTOPS, covering topics such as food and nutrition, health and well-being, transportation, employment, education, and more.

The survey aims to provide a broad view of socioeconomic conditions in the United States by collecting information from about 30,000 households in April 2025. The findings are intended to inform federal agencies as they assess national trends and develop policy responses.

According to the Census Bureau’s announcement, users can access the HTOPS dataset as a public-use file for creating customized tables based on their needs. The data offer insights not only at the national level but also for smaller geographic areas defined by the agency.

HTOPS is described as an experimental product that collects information every other month on both core topics and rotating subjects relevant to U.S. households. The survey is designed to help monitor changing conditions across various aspects of daily life.

Additional data collected later in 2025 are expected to be released in the coming months.
