The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA) has been recognized with a 2025 New Jersey Tourism Excellence Award in the Marketing category. The award, presented by the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association (NJTIA), acknowledges GWTIDA’s campaign themed ‘Welcome to the Wildwoods’.
According to GWTIDA, the campaign focused on portraying the Wildwoods as an inclusive destination suitable for all types of travelers. It centered on the well-known Wildwoods sign and featured story-driven creative content designed to reflect the island’s character.
Ben Rose, Marketing & Public Relations Director at GWTIDA, said, “Our campaign celebrated the variety of experiences the Wildwoods offers, emphasizing that there’s something for every age, every interest, and every kind of traveler. By showcasing this diversity through both visuals and storytelling, we reinforced the brand promise that we want to welcome everyone to the Wildwoods.”
The marketing initiative generated over 50 million impressions across platforms and nearly 7 million video completions. There was also a reported 28% increase in website users and more than 292 thousand website clicks.
The NJTIA Tourism Excellence Awards are judged by university marketing professors from across New Jersey. The award was given during the Annual New Jersey Conference on Tourism Luncheon held at the Golden Nugget Hotel, Casino & Marina in Atlantic City on December 10.
